The Movie Reviews
"The Incredible Burt Wonderstone"
With Steve Carell, Alan Arkin, Steve Buscemi, Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde, James Gandolfini, Jay Mohr, Michael Herbig,
Brad Garrett, Gillian Jacobs
2013, PG-13 for sexual content, dangerous stunts, a drug-related incident and language, 100 minutes
A young boy who turns to magic, taught in a magic kit sold by a famous magician (Arkin), so that he won't be bullied.
He grows up to be Burt Wonderstone (Carell), and his childhood friend (Buscemi) joins him in the act. After ten years,
some edgier magicians come on the scene, and the two men attempt to freshen the performance, but Buscemi is injured
in a stunt and leaves the show. Carell must work alone and do better than the Carrey character, who mainly burns and
maims himself. It was LOL funny in places, and except for Carrey, the cast was excellent and did great jobs. The last
Carrey movie I will ever see.
★★★★
"Stoker"
With Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, Phyllis Somerville, Harmony Korine, Lucas Till, Alden
Ehrenreich, Jacki Weaver, Dermot Mulroney
2013, Rated R for disturbing violent and sexual content, NOT FOR KIDS or anyone else, for that matter. This is
pure crap, 98 minutes
Do not bother renting or buying this piece of perverted garbage. It's about a family that seems to breed serial killers
who get their jollies killing people and reliving their kills. It was horrible, even as horror movies go. Don't bother.

Thank you so much, my darling TOL
I hate Jim Carrey, so I avoid all his films.
