Well I’m not trying to defend him. He was obviously the jerk of the group, and no doubt that led to the split, and since then he has become even more of a jerk at an exponential rate.

I would not go see one of his concerts, but I would definitely love to see Gilmour. However, he does sing well, he does scream well, and his voice was very suitable for certain songs, two of my favorites being Mother and Hey You.

I don’t really know what to see about the man. He seems pointlessly angry like many leftists. In fact he seems consumed by anger. Sad. I have enjoyed some of his work greatly despite that.

I do agree, it had that Lennon-McCartney dynamic, where Gilmour would provide the softer, sweeter vocals, and Waters could counter with the angrier, darker vocals.

But all you have to do is listen to Pigs(Three Different Ones) to see that Waters has always been consumed with bitter anger.

His daddy was killed by the Nazis in WW2 and somehow it’s the fault of the English upper class and the English private school system, or so I gathered from watching the Wall a zillion years ago.

This from the product of a socialist school teacher and the Cambridge milieu of academic loonies.
