As Huma is a muslim, I would think that perhaps her father observes sharia law. If so, should Huma not stick by her man, her dad might cut her head off.
Of course Weiner is a Jew, I don't what sharia would say about that, so maybe that renders my hypothesis invalid.

It’s OK for a Muslim, even one associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, to marry a Jew, when it’s done for the right political purposes, and no one in the MB is arguing against the 8 billion purposes Huma helped Zero give to the Egyptian MB.

I had a thought along the same lines. My idea was, does sharia say anything about a non-muslim husband bringing shame to a muslim wife/family.
