Well I guess we all missed it: President Obama has gotten us out of the recession! Oh wait, but thats not true at all.
In his press conference on Monday, Jay Carney said the Obama administration has pulled the nation out of the Great Recession with the creation of 7.2 million private sector jobs. But there are a few things that Mr. Carney forgot to mention along with this statistic.
Since February of 2009, the first full month of Obama's presidency, 9.5 million Americans have dropped out of the labor force. Nearly 90 million Americans are not working today!
That means that 1.3 Americans have dropped out of the labor force for every one job the administration claims to have created.
There are 15 million more Americans on food stamps today than when Obama assumed office.
At the end of January 2009, 32,204,859 Americans received aid from the Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program. As of April 2013, there were 47,548,694 Americans on food stamps.
That means that more than two Americans have been added to the food stamp rolls for every one job the administration says it has created.
Under Obama, 1.6 million more Americans are collecting disability insurance. In February 2009, 9,334,369 Americans received disability payments. Today, that number is 10,953,733.
What the president and his administration seem to forget is that just because there are new jobs in the market, does not mean that the problems have been solved! When more and more Americans are relying on government assistance, there is clearly still an issue. Until President Obama realizes that this country was created with liberty in mind, he will continue to flaunt these numbers around like they are proof of success.
Actually—I don’t think Obama or his administration has created nearly that many jobs. Sure, he may have increased the number of administrators and such in his administration, but that’s about it. He has not created a single private sector job.
Some FReepers euphemistically call the Pres Zero. And ZERO is exactly the number of jobs he has created. Matter of fact, truth be told, it’s likely a negative number.
Government doesn’t create sh!t. It knows only how to tax, spend and distribute wealth.
They aren’t food stamps any more. In TX, it’s called the Lone Star Card, a creation of the Democrat Texas A&M chancellor (or is it president?) John Sharp, an erstwhile friend and rival of one Rick Perry.
To the extent that Obama claims that government creates jobs, it is a mirage simply because such a claim never takes into account the economic cost of funding that job. The median household income in the US is approximately $50k/year but the median cost of a single federal employee is over $120k/year. For every job that government creates somewhere in the economy eventually more than two private sector jobs will disappear.
At most, government can only provide the environment in which private capital can develop an economic opportunity to make a profit. Government cannot create profit because it is not an economic animal, it is a political animal. If government creates a financial profit, it is an accidental by-product of creating political profit. Our government (and indeed all the governments of western countries) has become a self-funding, self-protecting parasite, the Leviathan State.
When I type the arrogant, lazy, lying pos’ name I always use the number 0 instead the letter O (0bama)
This guy is a masterful liar!!!!!!!!
He won’t spend much time in purgatory.....
The plan was to create 5 government jobs in the Food Stamp Program for every 2 new applicants. But the sequester kinda messed with those plans.

I would say that by definition ONLY the private sector can create a privae sector job. I have said in the past that it seems to me that every new government job should be counted as multiple jobs lost in reality.
First, government jobs are paid for by taxes or borrowing, so there is a revenue loss, any taxes deducted from a government salary came from taxes in the first place.
Second, government jobs are generally NOT prodctive in real terms at best and quite often COUNTER productive. You can’t do much of anything without permission at the county level these days. You literally cannot evacuate your bowel without government at multiple levels being involved.
There are exceptions as with anything but in all too many cases government workers could be given the opportunity to sit on the bank and watch the crawdeads die and the world would be far better off even if we paid them the same pay and benefits they get while supposedly working.
