"Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee Filing Bill To Cut Funding To Any State That Doesn’t Change “Stand Your Ground” Laws To “Duty To Retreat”"… Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said Wednesday that she would soon introduce legislation that would cut federal funding to any state that doesn’t require neighborhood watch programs to register with police.
Jackson Lee said her Justice Exists for All Act is a response to the trial of George Zimmerman, who was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter charges after shooting 17-year old Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman was the neighborhood watch coordinator in the Florida neighborhood where the shooting took place.
“We will … decrease the incidence of gun violence resulting from vigilantes by reducing by 20 percent the funds that would otherwise be allocated… to any state that does not require local neighborhood watch programs to be registered with a local [law] enforcement agency,” Jackson Lee said on the House floor.

Okay. Let’s have an amendment to this bill requiring punishment for any one who puts someone else in a position from which they have to exercise the duty to retreat.
The jails and prisons are full, so the punishment might be something like a term in public stocks on the courthouse lawn, with the option of being pelted with rotten fruit and vegetables for those whose offense is particularly egregious.
And, by the strangest coincidence, both are Amish . . . or something like that.

I think her idea is GREAT! Pass the bill and then all states can create a “stand your ground” law. PRESTO! That will cut federal spending!!!! Do It.
The federal government fails to protect the States from invasion, sues them to prevent them from protecting themselves ... and now this BS.

What SHOULD happen is every State should cut funding to the federal giverment..
EAsy to do.. just pass a State law forcing every remittance the federal givernment (from that State) to go thru a clearing house account..
AND TAX IT... forcing all Banks to monitor it..

AND force ALL federal givernment employees in that State to be certified..->> subject to lose certification..

AND by the way ALL STATE LANDS held by the federal givernment should be seized.. ALL OF IT..
ANY moneys withheld from a State should/could be deducted from money going out of that State..

How are you supposed to retreat when a 170 pound child is on top of you, trying to suffocate you while pounding your head into the concrete?
“Stand your ground” law is just a clarification TO THE STATE of a basic principle: if one is justified in using deadly force against another, retreat is not a viable option.
You cannot legally require someone to not legally defend themselves under the very conditions which make self defense legal.
