I decided not to hate these people years ago in the 90's...too hard on my system. I don't want to give them the power to do that to me.

I don't like anything they do, however, and will do whatever I can to get them out of power. I completely understand your feelings though.

I think it is different this time for the reason that these people pose an existential threat to the country in general and to me specifically. I think it is normal for someone to hate the thing or person that poses the existential threat.
