Have you tried a credit protection service like Lifelock? This is what my husband suggested and I'll have to look into it -- seems like everyone I talk to about this knows someone this has happened to. My sister joined Lifelock and darned if she didn't get a call within two weeks that someone was trying to open a credit card in HER name!! Will check it out. Fortunately, the bank refunded my money -- $1,400 is a lot of clams!! Thanks to all. Bon
