One of the more reluctant media figures to emerge from the George Zimmerman trial was 19 year-old Rachel Jeantel, the last person to speak to unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, aside from the man who killed him.
Her contentious exchanges with defense attorney Don West sparked conversations about cultural differences, and the way many in the media reacted to them.
Jeantels unpleasant experience in the courtroom hasnt scarred her too deeply, however, as she told radio host Ricky Smiley, last week, that she aspires to become an attorney.
Jeantels time on the witness stand was a focal point of the trial, and was characterized by an intensely antagonistic repartee with defense attorney Don West, who seemed to be trying to provoke Jeantel into reacting negatively, and to present her as a sullen proxy for absent victim Trayvon Martin.
Since the trial, she has made several media appearances, and provided insight into the dynamic between her and West.
That dynamic apparently hasnt soured Jeantel on Wests profession, though. In an interview with Ricky Smiley last week, Jeantel said she hopes to go to college, with a little help from Smiley and radio superstar Tom Joyner:

She won’t go far in law school, she will have to read those square things with words in it
I listened to about five minutes of that interview and firmly believe that I have permanently destroyed at least ten of my IQ points as a result.
I have seen lawyers that stupid, but I think she should try talk show host. Al Sharpton did it, and he’s as dumb as she is.
Can you imagine how long it would take for her to do a closing argument?
Hey, as long as she had absolutely NOTHING to do with the operation of the spacecraft, let her fly. What could go wrong?
McKinney earned a B.A. in international relations from the University of Southern California, an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She worked as a high school teacher and later as a university professor.
A neurosurgeon?
She won’t even be able to read her own diploma.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Hmmm......nice.....glasses.
Congress.
She’ll end up in Congress.
She couldn’t spell “cat” if you spotted her the “c” and the “a.” The LSAT demands a bit more than that.
Someone I know who practiced against him said he was quite smart and a very capable litigator.
Isn’t Affirmative Action great.
She has no problem passing the salad bar
Out your butt! What makes you superior? The fact that you know how to read and write. Bet your cracka-ass wouldn't last a day in the world she lives in. Certainly your empathy for another sucks.
Anytime someone is willing to better themselves, I say more power to them!
Ignorance can be overcome, stupidity is something everyone suffers from at times. Look around...
You forgot the laugh track.
