The most accurate is usually murder, since a corpse is a pretty concrete thing.

Even that might be iffy. Someone on another thread a while ago mentioned that in some European countries, it's only "murder" if there's an arrest. On my list of "Things to look up if I'm ever that bored" is that person's claim that in England, there's a high number of "non-natural, non-accidental, non-suicidal" deaths, which somehow don't get added to the murder statistic.
