Spot on Talking Points segment, Bill! This, and this alone, must start any true conversation, not a discussion about Trayvon Martin. Not a discussion about slavery. Not a discussion about Civil Rights. The question is and will always be a question about personal responsibility and personal choice. And I say this because without Black America acknowledging its own problems and deficiencies first, White America will never EVER turn a truly interested ear their way. Why would Whites care about Blacks when Blacks project an image that they don’t even care [to be honest] about themselves.
We’ve all heard the Left and its race hustlers say things like, “While we must also acknowledge that the black community has much to do to get its own house in order, America, at large must...[fill in the rest]” This disingenuous approach always serves the purpose of claiming victim-hood and release from personal responsibility. They will usually add some disclaimer like, “We, in our community, will hold that conversation at our own dinner tables, among our own family. We don’t need White America to tell us how to live. That’s just more proof that White America has a low view of Black America.” It is at this point that the intellectually honest throws up his/her hands, feigns a smile of understanding and seeks to walk away usually shaking the head and wondering when “these folk” are ever going to get real.
I agree. For sure he’ll be audited.
In fact, even with a "black" president, the gulf is widening...thanks in not a small part to the Obama admin fanning the flames of racial resentment. Does anyone recall Obama telling black students they can make it America through hard work and a good attitude? If he has said that, I'd like to know. Instead we get this bs about institutional racism and white privilege.
I normally find BOR a bit too much to take with his “give em’ the benefit of the doubt” spin. However, last night, outside of one point, I thought Bill was dead on, he stuck to a tough point, mailed home the truth about the demise of the black community, really sent a message to the hypocritical left and all the race baiters, and a message of utter FAIL by the POTUS.
He lost me when he said Zimmerman was “wrong” for confronting Martin.
Zimmerman did no such thing.
Yep. And as long as this is the case we’re all going to get nowhere awfully fast when it comes to “race” in America. The more I think about this, the more I see the “race” issue as more of a maturity issue. Failure to take responsibility for one’s actions is the sign of immaturity, no? This is what Black America is doing. Nothing more. Nothing less. And let’s not get into those smarmy white liberals who decry with almost pained faces (like children demanding to know “I’m right on this one, right?”) the inherent injustice built into our system. Again, over-the-top emotionalism is a sign of immaturity.
For decades, the progs have promoted relativism and egalitarianism as a means to erase the (once powerful) stigma of shame, which helped preserve the social hierarchy, moral truths and the mainstream cultural fabric. Liberals are quick to offer an encyclopedia of excuses for dysfunctional behavior, and then proclaim it to be “the new normal.” Without the stigma of shame, there’s little chance that the black culture will ever morph into anything better.
You should have continued watching, because he was so right on everything else it completely overshadowed that relatively minor error.
He was dead on right, and delivered it without holding anything back.
He was the BOR I used to look forward to seeing.
I am not a great fan of Bill O’Reilly, but....last night, in a few short minutes, given with great gusto, focus and determination, BOR hit a “Grand Slam” out of the ballpark!!! IMHO, every single conservative TV and radio talk show host should rebroadcast his remarks!!! He within minutes, clearly defined to a “tee” the plight of many Black Americans. I would only suggest that Black America took a good, hard, honest look in the mirror and realize the majority of their problems are self-inflicted wounds and their following of false leaders of their own kind, starting with POTUS Obama on down!!! It is as simple as that!!!
If we weren’t talking about racism we might talk about Obama being a failure.
Pray for America to Wake Up
He held back on “The Bell Curve.”
And what was Juan’s initial comment? Quit trying to deflect attention from Zimmerman. Why is this dumb ass on Fox?
This subject needs to be picked up by more than BOR. It needs to flood the airways. Bill is as much calling out alleged colleagues in his industry as he is Jackson, Sharpton and Obama. But you can rest assured that no other person on any other network or media outlet will agree with Bill or even address the subject.
The only noise you'll hear will be from racist Def Gangsta Wannabes screaming about what a racist BOR is. And the aforementioned media cowards will be only too glad to broadcast THAT message.
At least you’ve chosen the correct screen name.
BOR, as most upthread have already observed, hit a solid home run, and yet you’re trying to deflect from his win by saying he should have opened up his monologue to a second, much more controversial subject.
That would have allowed everyone to focus on that subject today instead of the unwed mothers and glorification of the black criminal culture, which, I can only imagine, is why you’re wishing he had done so.
I was 100% with O’Reilly last night. I couldn’t have said it better, IMHO!!!
Don’t candy-coat it, Bill.
