Yes he is an American Citizen, just not a natural born Citizen eligible for Article 2 Section 1.
Yes, he is. But the term "American" does not define the United States of America. Canadians are Americans as are those born in Mexico, Honduras, Brazilians, etc. BUT in order to be a natural born US Citizen, it requires 2 citizen parents. Ted Cruz is not a natural born US Citizen. But I will vote for him for any office he chooses to run for and is qualified to serve in.
Because Congress passed a law in 1934 making such people "citizens." *IF* the mother was old enough (Mother too young? No Citizenship) and *IF* the child resides in the United States for the specified time period, (No US Residence? No Citizenship.) you could KEEP your citizenship.
This is not "Natural" citizenship, it is artificial citizenship.
