It’s been almost sick-making watching Obama-loving media members gush and fawn over his address to the nation Friday concerning race and the George Zimmerman verdict.

One nauseating example was Newsweek’s Eleanor Clift who said on PBS’s McLaughlin Group, “The President’s remarks on Friday are going to be read by future generations. They’re beautiful, they’re eloquent”

They’re beautiful, they’re eloquent, they speak to the pain of a lot of people in this country. [Pointing at fellow panelist Mort Zuckerman] You’re smirking while I say that.

MORT ZUCKERMAN, US NEWS & WORLD REPORT: I’m not smirking.

CLIFT: Sure looked that way right over there.

CLARENCE PAGE, CHICAGO TRIBUNE: No smirking, Mort.

ZUCKERMAN: Get a pair of glasses.

JOHN MCLAUGHLIN, HOST: Smirking is prohibited.

ZUCKERMAN: I wasn’t smirking.

CLIFT: He addresses the pain that a lot of people feel. He does not question the jury verdict. He talks about how we can go forward. He doesn’t, he says we’ve made a lot of progress. This is not a post-racial America. But if he didn’t speak out, what kind of president would he be? This has been the elephant in the room for the last week. He has an obligation to address this.

MCLAUGHLIN: President…

CLIFT: And I think a lot of people will identify with the remarks that he made.

Let’s be clear: Barack Obama could recite the alphabet and folks such as Clift would have orgasms.

Makes you wonder how any of them sleeps at night.

He did refute the verdict and was against the man the court found innocent and against the jury. He just wasn’t explicit about it. He is on record for sympathizing with Trayvon’s family and wondering how the outcome of the trial would have been different if he had been white. THE PRESIDENT has hinted broadly that Zim is guilty and that he feels sorry for Trayvon and certainly, Trayvon’s family even after the news carried word that Zim’s family had been receiving death threats and Zim would not be safe anywhere - there was no peace in Obama’s statements. Those protesting the verdict say they were very encouraged by the President’s words. When/if Zim and his family bear the brunt of the rage that the baiters AND the president have carefully fanned, the baiters and the president will be responsible.

Anyhow, later on Zuckerman tried to outdo Clift in the slobberfest. How it was just a great speech that had to be given, as a matter of fact, it was Obama’s Lincoln moment.
