LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Officials in Long Beach are warning residents about a planned ‘Bash Mob’ potentially planned for Friday afternoon.
In a ‘Bash Mob,’ an unruly but organized crowd — sometimes as many as 100 people — race through the streets committing thefts, petty crimes, assaults and property damage.
A ‘Bash Mob’ most recently occurred in the Long Beach area on July 9 in the Pike and City Place areas downtown, according to Long Beach Police Sgt. Aaron Eaton. One person was arrested and several business reported property damage during the incident.
Detectives investigating the July 9 incident found out about the planning stages of another event, by the same group, scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Eaton said.
“The Long Beach Police Department takes this issue very seriously and will be prepared to arrest anyone whose intent is to commit criminal acts,” Eaton said. “We will continue to support everyone’s right to free speech and assembly. However, the police must also protect the safety of those victims targeted by these ‘bash mobs.”‘
Police did not know if the planned ‘Bash Mob’ was connected to a similar incident in Hollywood Tuesday evening.
Eaton says the “mobs” are apparently organized on social media site and often come up with their own names. The “mobs” also arrive and leave by Metro.
“They are able to gather quickly and commit these crimes. Most often, it appears theft is the intent and target of why they are doing this.” said Eaton.
As in Tuesday’s incident in Hollywood, innocent bystanders and businesses are most often hit.
In the July 9 incident in Long Beach, KCAL9′s Suraya Fadel said there were a few minor injuries, several businesses sustained property damage and there was one arrest and several citations

Our society falls into lawlessness, and we’re all supposed to be outraged about George Zimmerman. I, for one, have had enough of this. The whiners about “profiling” can shut up.
Why subject poor dumb animals to such abuse?
The absence is ALL-TELLING.
This is what "progressives" and "black leaders" would call "a peaceful demonstration."
It would have been even more peaceful if they had burned some cars and hospitalized some white folks.
Industrial strength pepper spray is much more efficient.
Don’t know that tasers would be effective on a fast-moving, wide-ranging mob bent on theft and vandalism.

Police & deputies confront and attempt to contain the mob, order them to cease and disperse. Non-compliance and/or continued lawlessness results in swift arrest of mob members. Active resistance to officer custody brings physical enforcement by LEOs suct as pepper sprays, tear gas and to include lethal force if necessary.
Variable factors are size if lawless mob VS number of LEOs, proximity to civilians, time of day, location, etc. If LEOs greatly outnumbered, they call for all support and defend themselves as may be necessary while striving to protect the safety and property of civilians.
Any ‘solution’ where the bash mob is allowed to pillage and plunder at will is no solution at all and will only encourage continued lawless aggression.

This is the time for those “non lethal” gems used on Weaponology to come out and play.
Noise which makes your bowels explode and smell which makes you vomit for hours are a good start.
For those needing higher doses, the noise that makes you feel like your skin is burning works well in these environments.
Finally, for the leaders trying to get away, nothing like net guns to ensnare their sorry asses. If you need to employ the nets, you know you have someone that needs to be “disappeared.”

Before I tear into your comment, let me be sure I am understanding it. Are you suggesting that I am a "white hater" because I recognize and point out that flash mobs that steal and injure innocent people are overwhelming black? That is a fact. Nothing complicated about it.
Am I a "white hater"? I don't think so. Do I hate the scum that do this? Yep, I do. Do I hate those than don't? Nope. Send out whites to commit the same assaults and I will judge them just the same.
As regards the CBS report, it and the authorities were careful to evade the subject of race. The detail of the video is such that by not referring to race, they can avoid the subject, yet later claim that they weren't disguising the race of the criminals.
I have no respect for those who disguise *real* race based crime. Regardless of the color of the perpetrator.
