A jury has spoken.

Exactly. Relatives (and prosecutors) make all kinds of claims to make dead perps look 'innocent'.

Martin's parents still claim 'he was an unarmed teenager minding his own business and walking home with his candy'.

I clearly was being too vague in my remark "a jury has spoken" attempting to show that I had some doubt about the case. The usual wording is "the jury has spoken", a difference which was pointed out when BO said "a jury has spoken" and there were suggestions that he had in mind that there would be another trial and another jury .

I had quoted the aunt'scomment that Christopher Cervini had been shot in the back by by the perp. The closest I could come to confirming that was this from an internet search:

Judge Sets Roderick Scott's Bail at $25,000 "It could be construed that a shot in the back would be less indicative of a self defense claim however that will ultimately be up to a jury to decide," said Finocchio. ... Again Roderick Scott claims Chris Cervini said "I'm going to get you" when he was running towards him. rochesterhomepage.net/fulltext?nxd_id=83731&nxd_25741_start=22315

No kidding. That article is no longer available but there is no reason to believe it was a fake article. The jury took 19 hours to reach a verdict. I'll still go with "a jury has spoken".
