Florida Gov. Rick Scott held an emergency meeting Thursday night with pro-Trayvon Martin protesters that staged a sit-in outside his office to demand an end to Floridas Stand Your Ground law.
Scott, who has been under fire from activists in the wake of George Zimmermans acquittal in Martins death, met with protesters at the State Capitol and reminded them that he agrees with Floridas Stand Your Ground law, but that hes calling for a statewide day of prayer for unity to help people of all persuasions move beyond the verdict.

More than 100 protesters from the group Dream Defenders, which previously coordinated with a unit of the Obama administrations Justice Department, descended upon the Florida state capitol Wednesday demanding to meet with Governor Scott to request that a special legislative session be held to repeal the states Stand Your Ground law, which Scott supports. Scott, who is facing tough re-election odds in 2014, initially showed no sign of desiring a meeting with protesters, but eventually caved in at 9 pm ET Thursday night, at the end of Day 2 of the protesters sit-in in the lobby of Scotts office....

I hope the Tea Party “primaries” Gov. Scott after he appointed State Attorney Corey to falsely prosecute George Zimmerman.
Again the adults are abdicating!
If these anti-White Hispanic types weren’t doing so much “lean”, they’d have a good chance of figuring out that the “Stand Your Ground” law played no part in this. Martin was using Zimmerman’s head for a basketball. Zimmerman shot him to stop the bouncing noise in his head.
Prayer for unity? Uh-oh, now he’s done it. The American Atheists will be holding a sit in next!
How about this, Scott? Explain the facts to these people. SYG was not a part of this case. If you continue to block government buildings you will be arrested.
Appeasing these racists with day of prayer legitimates their nonsense. If Scott wants to play these people fine, one off. Any further disruption and you will be arrested.
Scott better stand up and denounce these intimidation tactics.
It’s the oldest trick, goad the government into responding and then claim oppression. Filthy communist pukes.
Dumbarse cretins don't realize that SYG was not part of this case and even if it weren't Florida law, GZ still would have been acquitted.
Why are people still pretending that the Stand Your Ground law was used for Zimmerman’s defense?
Because there’s a push from the White House on down to repeal that various state “stand-your-ground” laws?
True enough, but certainly they could come up with some pretext that actually has a logical connection to Stand Your Ground to push their agenda. What would happen if some of these protestors actually read up on the Zimmerman case.... Oh wait, what am I thinking. They don’t want to know actual facts. And they probably can’t read. Commence protesting as planned.
the devil is behind the scenes trying to pick the world apart. no worldly plan, not worldly scheme can prevail against the devil. only God can, and God has to be invited into our lives to save us, God will not barge in to save us uninvited.

as long as people respond to being lied to with something other than “this is nonsense” then the liars will lie more and more boldly.
It’s kind of hard to fight that when the acronym news sources (ABC I personally heard multiple times) kept top-of-hour reporting that SYG was “pivotal in Zimmermans defense”...
Ben Carson had said he wished Zimmerman had used a taser but I think that wouldn’t have worked at such close range and would have shocked them both.
media always lie
It’s nice where possible, but not always practical, to use a stun gun (and a hand held stunner would have worked better than a taser gun assuming Zimmerman could get at it).
Scott is such a gem..........NOT!
Stand Your Ground law ping
