Sen. Lindsey Graham: US should consider boycotting Russian Olympic Games
Fox News ^ | July 17, 2013

Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has said that the United States should consider a boycott of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Russia if Moscow decides to grant asylum to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Sen. Graham told The Hill Tuesday that the Russians' recent actions involving Snowden were “outrageous” and agreed that a boycott should be a possibility when asked.

“I would. I would just send the Russians the most unequivocal signal I could send them,” Graham said. “We certainly haven't reset our relationship with Russia in a positive way. At the end of the day, if they grant this guy asylum it’s a breach of the rule of law as we know it and is a slap in the face to the United States.”

Such a boycott would recall the Olympic boycotts of the 1980s, when President Carter boycotted the Summer Olympics in the Soviet Union over the invasion of Afghanistan, and four years later the Soviets responded by boycotting the Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles.

I’ve been waiting a long time to hear some politician, any politician, with the power to do anything about it, say the first word about protecting Christians in this world. So far the only taker has been Vladimir Putin. I have no plans to boycott the Russian Olympics.

We’d like to help you Lindsey but we’re already busy boycotting you, McCain and the rest of Schumer’s RINOs.

It is time for Senator Lindsey Graham to retire. Just who does he think will be punished besides the athletes of the USA?

The Senator is out of step and out of touch, in my opinion.

By what authority does the federal government order a boycott of Olympic Games?

Sorry, Lindsey Girl. Snowden simply isn't important enough to justify a boycott.

You, on the other hand, would richly deserve a boycott by the voters of South Carolina next spring.

Thank you, Senator Graham, for your efforts to keep Sidney Crosby, Geno Malkin, Brooks Orpik, et. al. fresh for another

If I recall my history from 1980, they technically can't. In fact there was talk that many US athletes might go anyway and compete despite the ban. But the Feds can make life for the U.S. Olympic Committee so miserable they put enough pressure on them to make it stick.

Before reading past the headline I thought Linda might be throwing a hissy fit over Putin's zero tolerance for the homosexualagenda.
