Mark O'Mara is modern-day Americas answer to Atticus Finch. Don West also deserves enormous credit, yet he does not have the detached and martyred air that Mr. O'Mara shares with Atticus. Mr. West could not contain his exasperation when faced with an incredibly unprofessional prosecution and judge. Mr. O'Mara, in an equally valid response, chose to keep his Zen.
Mr. O'Mara betrays a steely toughness with a Giuliani-esqe lisp. During the news conference after the verdict, a reporter from the Times of London tritely asked, You mentioned something about George wanting to get his life back theres one person whos not going to. Have you got any words for the family of Trayvon Martin? Mr. O'Mara genuflected appropriately to indicate his sympathy, but then continued:
Im not going to shy away from the fact that the evidence supported that George Zimmerman did nothing wrong, and that he was battered and beaten by a 17-year-old who for whatever reason, we wont know, thought that he had to lash out and attack violently. And it turns out that all of the forensic evidence supports that. None of it supports that George was ever the aggressor. Certainly not legally, and I dont think morally.

there have to be some people of integrity and principle left who are not willing to throw everything over for money and sex
Wow! At least one media outlet gets it right!
Not to sideline your thread, but I always wondered what “To Kill a Mockingbird” meant.
During a recent re-reading (from my kids’ summer reading lists), I think it’s basically this:
It’s ok to kill birds that are eating your crops, but all a mockingbird does is sing and provide music. So it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird because it’s an innocent creature.
Look at the “two Trayvons” (the real and the media-hyped one).
Do you have any message? the reporter asked again, undeterred. And this is the way it goes. When it comes to the media, any voice that contradicts their viewpoint tends to speak right past them. Reporters follow-up questions often show no indication that they have mentally absorbed the initial response. They dont hear what they dont want to hear.
FYI
he·ro
noun,
1. a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.
Saw O’mara and D. west on Hannity last night.
Brilliance in action.
They both have the moral courage to let the truth shine, each in their own distinct way.
They are an inspiration, and a rare commodity today.
We all can learn from them.
O’Mera is the new Atticus Finch. Trayvon Martin is the new Dred Scott. I’d say that the hyperbole is getting a bit extreme, from both camps.

” They dont hear what they dont want to hear.’
_______
The media has their own pre planed agenda and anything that varies from that is not allowed. The days of unbiased reporting simply no longer exist in the interests of money and power.
Looks like the Washington Times is reading FR for ideas

At least they spelled O’Mara right (I didn’t :) )
Travon Made His Bed, Now he lays in it.
The Guru’s answer to the presstitute’s question regarding words of sympathy to the parents of Trayvon Martin would have been as follows:
“If you raise your son with the common black belief that a black man can attack anyone without running the risk of being shot and killed, you have raised your son to sign his own death warrant.
They allowed their son to be a member of ‘black thug culture’ instead of being an American.
Choices have consequences.”
In America, Trayvon chose to attack a fellow citizen and paid the lawful and moral price.
Bad parental premises lead to bad offspring.
Trayvon Martin was a good child who adopted bad behavior and in so doing caused his death.
Long ago a Jewish Carpenter was alleged to have said something about “the wages of Sin are Death”.
He was right.
I’d say he’s more like the Clarence Darrow of self-defense cases. Darrow was the attorney in a case where a black doctor was acquitted i.e. self-defense. I’m surprised that the media haven’t brought up this case. “Several of Dr. Sweets friends were waiting upstairs, armed with guns that Sweet had purchased prior to moving in. Shots were fired from upstairs, hitting two men. One of the them, Eric Houghberg was wounded in the leg. The other man, Leon Breiner, was killed.”

I’m okay with this bit of hyperbole, solely because comparing O’Mara to Atticus Finch will stick in the Progressives’ collective craw. That’s always fun to watch.
It also makes us look as wacky as they do. Trayvon Martin = Dred Scott? My God!
1. Follow the agenda.
2. If sidetracked from the agenda, go to Rule #1.
First thing I thought!
Congrats on being in first with the great analogy!
Agreed.
