Radio personality Tom Joyner has offered Rachel Jeantel, the friend of Trayvon Martin who spoke to him shortly before he died, a full scholarship to any Historically Black College or University she chooses. The website Joyner founded, BlackAmericaWeb.com, confirmed the news. Jeantel spoke to Joyner on his radio show Tuesday morning.
He said to her: "If you want to graduate from high school, and go to an HBCU, even if its not in Florida but especially Florida, like Florida Memorial, Edward Waters or FAMU, if you want to do that, I want to help you do that. I will help you get tutors to get you out of high school, tutors to help you pass the SAT and I will give you a full ride scholarship to any HBCU youd like."
Joyner said he was moved by Jeantel's testimony. The funding for the scholarship will come from the Tom Joyner Foundation.
Jeantel reluctantly took the stand to testify for the prosecution in the second-degree murder trial of George Zimmerman. She told the courtroom that she heard Martin say "get off, get off" before the call cut out and Zimmerman shot him. During her testimony, which spanned two days, she was mocked online by people insulting her dress, mannerisms, and intelligence.
Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges on Saturday.

Her first class should be Cursive 101
Lifetime welfare queen or college graduate. Money for nothing and my purple drank for free. I want my EBT.
“Does she even have a high school diploma yet?”
She’s on the six year plan.
Why do I think her skill set has something to do with food and eating.
Maybe barber or clown college
I imagine that a lot of students, black and white, can’t read cursive all over this country. They don’t teach it any more. I think that is pitiful, IMHO.
She needs money for remedial reading first.
Hmmm. Lyin’ in court?
Like offering her a free condo on the moon, with the caveat that she has to get herself there.
Better to help her figure out a skill she enjoys...”

Good for her.
Does the scholarship include a translator?
Why a black college?
Because theyre easier.
I suspect that some black colleges such as Morehouse have higher academic standards than many state colleges. Because they are private they can discriminate and they don’t have to worry about affirmative action.

She is the product of an inferior culture, that has inferior values.

“Inferior culture”? That would be the current mainstream American culture now as advanced by the public schools (and some private schools also).
Do books on tape sound any different when the original manuscript is in cursive?
Do they sound like they are on PBS or something???
