The ME would say "its not my job" and he had "confidence on" his staff to take such initiatives which he apparently never took the time to check.

I was referring to the crime scene of the previous burglaries at the time those burglaries were reported when I raised the “IF” question. The ME absolutely would have printed the kid. IF they were swabbing his knuckles for DNA, then a full blown investigation was underway at the time, and prints would have been a no-brainer.
