I have worked the area for over 25 years and very familiar with the city, but yes will keep a close eye on what is happening. There are good black citizens in the city.... I broke down in 1981 near Central and the 10 FWY. Pulled into a service station. Attendant was in a bullet proof kiosk. He came over and told me to get into the kiosk until my help came to protect me. He really looked out for me and when my Uncle came to get me, he helped him to get my battery jumped so we could get out of the area. I will never forget this good man. He didn’t have to help me. I was sitting in my car waiting for my Uncle and this guy came over and basically told me it was not safe for me to sit in my car.
