DISTRICT JUDGE TOM GREENWELL SEEKS GOP NOMINATION FOR 13th COURT OF APPEALS
State District Judge Tom Greenwell has announced he will seek the Republican nomination for the 13th Court of Appeals, Place 2 seat in 2012. The seat is currently held by Corpus Christi Republican Rose Vela, who has announced that she will seek the Chief Justice spot on the 13th Court of Appeals.
Greenwell was first elected in 2002 to the 319th District Court in. He won a third term last year after running unopposed and will not have to give up his current seat unless he is elected to the 13th Court of Appeals.
Greenwell leads the county veterans court and has served as a staff attorney on the appeals court and was chief of the courts legal staff from 1991 to 1996. He worked in private practice until he was elected district judge.
Very curious. Why would someone commit suicide if they were about to run for higher office?
