Indeed, it does.
When Al Gore was talking up the "information superhighway," I was calling it "the porno-net." And so it is.
Indeed, it does seem to be.
I want to believe that the conservatives on this forum who try to justify pornography don't really understand what we're talking about. These days, the porn habit among men (and some women) has become far worse, thanks to easy, anonymous access via the internet. For many of them, it is like an addiction, and they will lie, cheat, steal, and go into debt for it.
Many guys fall deeper and deeper into it, forever looking for the increasingly weirder stuff. And, when just looking no longer satisfies them, they start acting on it - using webcams at first, and then eventually arranging to meet strangers in real life.
It doesn't matter how their wives look, or how nice their wives are. They become addicted to this other thing. And they can't stop. They'll blame their wives to try to justify their actions, but really they are at fault. An analogy might be the ring in Lord of the Rings: Once they wear it, they're never really released from it. It becomes something that tortures them throughout life. Some lose their jobs over it; their families are destroyed. But they're so sick that nothing else really matters to them.
Hmmm... Now you have me wondering about those ads, too.
I never accept emails from them, immediately delete them and then use the telephone. Yes, lots of viruses. Last time visiting him, we watched a couple movies. Bad quality. I rent or buy to get quality. He has several PC's with Windows, full of viruses, and hates Apples (he's a former IBM worker). I think he should sue IBM for his addiction.
Yeah, but I got lazy and stopped using Unix/Linux stuff in the last ten years (used to administer some Unix workstations and servers before retiring). Have a mix of PC's and Apples, and became a lazy user. But I know enough to use non-admin accounts, and virtual images that can be easily deleted and replaced. I never lose sleep over viruses.

Excellent analogy. I’m sure it will come in handy some day.
Go for it, GSC, GO FOR IT! <8^)
For years Apple used IBM processors, does he hate IBM as well or does he hate Apple because they stopped using IBM processors?
No, he’s just a PC bigot, anti-Apple. He is a bit pissed with IBM, after they laid him off after working for years with them, when they shut down PC stuff in the San Jose area. I worked with various platforms, IBM, Apple, UNIX based stuff, it didn’t matter to me. He’s also fixated on using GM cars, including a Buick lemon. Crazy, tools are tools no matter who makes them.
