from what GZ said it wasn’t so much the attack as that he thought Martin was going for the gun. that was the real linchpin. If Martin had just got up and walked away or even just kept punching him he may not have shot him. it was when he said “you’re gonna die tonight” and coupled that with going for the gun that led to the shooting.
Exactly. A point that a lot of this country has either not heard or has chosen to ignore. It comes down to that very point and the fact that at that point GZ was in fear for his life. Period.
I was skeptical on that part of the testimony, not that it matters. Pounding GZ's head against the concrete had a reasonable risk of death or serious bodily harm, so that justified the shooting. I'm not convinced either way on whether TM actually reached for the gun and threatened death.
