This would be the intern who confirmed to local news station KTVU that the Asiana Airlines pilots who crash-landed that plane in San Francisco were named Sum Ting Wong, Ho Lee xxx, and so on. It's still unclear why the intern did this, or why KTVU asked the intern to do this. Everyone is terrible.

By the way, this seems unfair. He works for a government agency. Why should he be expected to do anything approaching competent work?

He gets fired for a stupid joke, but the airline and the pilots he made fun of screwed up and killed 3 people, injured scores, and shut down air traffic into one of the world's major hubs for days, and they're upset?

The news reader was so stupid she didn't even "get" the jokes, but she carefully said "Ho Lee Fook", instead of the way it was spelled.
Ron Burgundy would have just read it as is.
