To my mind, the most irrefutable proof of self-defense that Zimmerman’s supporters should focus on is the evidence that TM was raining down blows on GZ for more than forty-five seconds during which time GZ was screaming for help but didn’t land a single blow on TM. Even if, hypothetically speaking, GZ had somehow done something that gave TM a legitimate reason to punch him in the face and knock him to the ground, there would have been no remotely-plausibly-legitimate reason for him to continue beating GZ for more than 45 seconds after that.
But you are a rational person. The spectacle now being ginned via a cadre of sycophantic regime media vermin is not about rational, its about herding weak minds into rioting and violence. The regime uses such to empower themselves because they cannot empower themselves via Constitutional means.
