Governors are important, but they aren't kings.

Being that Texas is such a success story, the GOP ought to take the governor of that state and run him for president.

Well, sort of true. Texas has a Gross Receipts Franchise Tax. If you are a service company (a broadly applied designation) you pay a franchise tax of 1% of ALL receipts not profits, RECEIPTS received for work in Texas. So if you are fortunate enough to make a 10% profit you pay 1% of Receipts on that 10% profit or an effective tax rate of 10% on your profit. TEN PERCENT OF YOUR PROFIT!

I would not call that no corporate income tax.

Private sector jobs in Texas have increased 10% since 2009, while per capita income has increased 13.3%

So all those claims about the Texas job growth was low paying is false. What a surprise.
