They do that because many of them mistake kindness for weakness. Many of them think that because there are a disproportionate number of boxers and athletes among them - they think European - Americans are afraid of being in a physical confrontation with them. These kinds of people are very simpleminded and like children who have difficulty controlling their emotions, they lack a depth of thought or verbal restraint.

I have to believe that most single mothers would fear most the alienation of the remaining loved ones she has in her life, most importantly her children, and would be reluctant to provide effective discipline, especially to a male child.

Not to mention the fact that the father is normally the disciplinarian in the nuclear family, and that effective parental discipline often requires the united front of two parents vs. the wayward child to overwhelm their rebellious nature and convince them to learn to submit to legitimate authority.

These children don't have a chance.
