After weeks of carefully managed political repair work that has lifted Anthony Weiner from sexting scandal punch line to front-runner in the New York City mayoral campaign, he suddenly faces a threat from someone whos not even in the same race: Eliot Spitzer.
The former New York governors surprise entry into the city comptrollers race now means there are two sex scandal-comeback stories competing for the medias attention, and the constant mention of both in the same breath has once again put Weiner back under the lens of infamy he has worked so hard to escape.
Its horrible timing, just as Weiner was rising in the polls, said Democratic strategist Dan Gerstein, who is not affiliated with any candidate in the 2013 race. Now, weve had a weeklong conversation about sex. Character may become a central issue again.

Of course, we here in California deserve Boxer, Feinswine, Brown, etc.
So there. I flamed myself. No need to pile on.
LOL hahahahahaha!
Wiener/Spitzer: NY is pulling for you.
Indeed.
Ringling Bros is a sideshow compared to the real three-ring circus that is NYC politics today.
Hmm. The noses and the “devil” ears.
Client 9 Deflates Weiner
Spitzer proving to be a pull on Weiner’s pud.
Whichever Dem wins, Noo Yawk loses.
Weiner will go down after it Spitzers,
I despise both of these men but there is a big difference in what they did that got them in trouble.
Insofar as I know Anthony Weiner was a sex crazed jerk, but I don’t think he broke any laws.
Spitzer on the other hand broke many of them, while he was the chief law enforcement official in New York State. And he paid NO PRICE for it, legally.
I don’t think either should be elected, but Spitzer should have been tried for the many serious crimes he committed.
I think they should campaign together, a perfect slogan would be: “Weiner/Spitzer it’s what New York deserves!”
No funny penis-jokes from the AP???
Probably. What is for sure is that Spitzer, Weiner and others like them are in the process of dragging down what was once a great state. It can't go on for much longer.
