A leading Italian senator has been chastised by Premier Enrico Letta for likening the countrys first black Cabinet minister to an orangutan, the latest high-profile racist episode in a nation grappling with immigration.
(Roberto) Calderoli, the Senates vice-president and a leader of the anti-immigrant Northern League party, later said he was making a joke and meant no offense to Cecile Kyenge, a Congolese-born doctor who is the countrys immigration minister.

Racist and sexist too! People should be able to oppose unlimited immigration from the third world without being utter azzh*les.
I would like to see a picture before I pass judgement.
I was thinking the same thing... :)
Read post #5.
Google Cecile Kyenge. The immigration minister is a woman, and IMO, has no resemblance to an orangutan.
Wait just a minute now,I thought that WE were The RACISTS???
Just another reminder that despite all of the moaning and crying coming from American libs about our “racist society”, we are a model of tolerance. The rest of the world is stone cold racist when it comes to people who don’t look like them.
what the hell does he have against orangutans?
all I see is a horse’s ass
It’s not even close. Now if he likened a Scotsman to an orangutan, that there would be racism.
How in the hell did that unlimited 3rd world immigration into the West get started anyway?
Who planted that suicidal seed in the Western mind?
Notice that there is no immigration in the opposite direction.
Interestingly, the Chinese are moving into Africa, for business opportunities.
Orangutans have red hair.
The benefits for the immigrants are obvious: food and water, stuff like that.
But why did it all start in the 60’s and not before that time?
I think that the white man (the West) started this guilt trip and self-flagellation after the end of colonization.
There was massive immigration into the U.S. long before the 1960s, including from places (Ireland, Italy) in a quite primitive economic and cultural state. France began bringing in African workers in large numbers post-World War II, because French manpower had been (figuratively and literally) blitzed. I don’t know when large numbers of Turks moved into Germany, but they did.
What happened in the 1960s was that social welfare systems went from basic or nonexistent to “more than enough for a comfortable life, especially if you’re from the Congo,” and cultural and moral confidence collapsed. Post-Colonial guilt probably affected the last factor, but European and American “elites” had never liked the idea of bourgeois morality and responsibility.
I see in the mirror behind her she looks like a horses ass. Oh..wait.. maybe not a mirror.
