I happened to get stopped by a semi backing into a warehouse lot on Whitehead Rd. in west Baltimore (just into the county near Social Security) Friday when I looked over and saw 4 cops with guns drawn moving in a single-file line into another building, or onto its fire escape, the helicopter hovering above, obviously chasing a suspect, all in broad daylight, 11 am, just another happy day in the neighborhood, and my senior citizen adrenalin popped because the sudden occurrence of the REAL THING (real cops with real guns and a real bad guy somewhere near)gives you that am-I-gonna-be-a-drive-by-victim yikes! rush, and even though I gunned the gas pedal best I could when the truck cleared I simultaneously felt sorry for the cop who ended up shooting the perp if it went down that way because his or her life would never be the same, and with that thought I also registered the fact that the one female cop in the line going in was cute, because that’s one thing men never miss, do we?,....
Apparently the guy was an armed B&E suspect who they never found. That’s OK. The court of special appeals would have ended up releasing him in any case. It’s how we got where we are in the first place.
My guess is much of the crime there is perpetuated by blacks. Their history since the 60’s,welfare, more welfare,bad role models,no parents, etc.generates what we have today. Near anarchy in the cities.
What a scary situation. Sounds like you were in the county, not the city. Even the thugs know were the dividing line is, because the county court system is much stronger than the city - which is hopeless!
I just switched to our local Fox channel where a reporter is interviewing a Reverend who is heading a pro-Trayvon demonstration in downtown Baltimore. He is on the street with about 6 other people, all holding union-shop-printed signs: Justice for Trayvon Martin.
This protest has been advertised on tv and radio and will be held at 5pm today and tomorrow.
I believe this will fizzle. It will be 100 degrees in the city this afternoon. Too many people will be relaxing in air-conditioned places.
