Yes, the country needs healing.
Problem: the country is terminally ill, the life-support just got unplugged, and we’re all sitting around the bed waiting for the doc to make the call...
Zimmerman can't be sued for civil rights violations, only government employees(elected or otherwise)can't violate someone's civil rights, so the courts have ruled. Zimmerman is a private citizen and therefore not capable of being brought up on civil rights violation charges.
Most white people (there are some poor white people, too) will have to pay for their own attorneys, fines, damage, possible jail time, criminal record if they riot. Plus they’ll get shot at with real bullets by the cops, shot at by the other side, their dogs shot and killed, their kids taken away, did I miss something?
OJ Simpson was sued in a civil case for damages. I expect to see the same thing here.
The system worked. That’s what bothers these leftist hatemongers.
that is good news
There have been cases in both California and Oregon where the civil rights violation cited was the taking of one’s life. It did not require a color of authority component. Wait and see what DOJ does. Or even the family in the civil courts.
Not true. There have been such cases in both California and Oregon.
Rather the USA has hit rock bottom.
I have learned in my 70 years that the more you stir shyt, the worse it stinks.
The media has been stirring it from day one, and still show Trayvons picture of when he was 12 years old.
When the riots begin it is the Not to mention the inherent black bigotry blacks learn at the tit.
Here is the portion of the DOJ statue that will likely be used.....it applies to anyone not just federal employees
Hate Crimes
The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr., Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 , 18 U.S.C. § 249. Section 249 of Title 18 was enacted as Division E of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010 (starts at pg. 646 of the Act). Section 249, which went into effect in October 2009, created a new federal criminal prohibition against willfully causing bodily injury (or attempting to do so using fire, a firearm, or another dangerous weapon), when (1) the crime was committed because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin of any person, or (2) the crime was committed because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of any person and the crime affected interstate or foreign commerce or occurred within federal special maritime and territorial jurisdiction. The law also provides federal funding and technical assistance to state, local, and tribal jurisdictions to help them to more effectively investigate and prosecute hate crimes.”
“Not going to happen.”
Really? The NAACP is already petitioning Eric Holder to do so.
I appreciate the sentiment.
That is NOT a civil rights violation and it will be very difficult to prove a hate crime, though they might try, it will probably be tossed out.
It’s been really quiet in my East SF Bay general neighborhood.
This morning around 10:00 I heard a loud prolonged roar of what must have been a mile’s worth of Harleys headed east on Rt. 24 to Walnut Creek.
This evening, after the verdict, it is calm. No hooting, no gunshots, no fireworks, no bottle rockets.
I didn’t see a lot of lowlife thugs in my area. I generally don’t see them but tonight I didn’t see any. Maybe they were congregating elsewhere.
Pleasant night to all. And thank God for the verdict.
Keep us informed.
Where you live(Concord/Walnut Creek?), San Fran and E. PA are the canaries, just like OJ and Rodney King.
Stay safe.
I live 5 minutes from the Seminole County courthouse.
Some fireworks in my San Jose neighborhood, nothing atypical for a Saturday night this close to the 4th of July.
