"The bipartisan group is working on approval of this measure, which will touch upon all necessary aspects to deliver a healthy, sensible and comprehensive immigration reform," Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) said in a Spanish-language interview that will air on Univision's Al Punto. "I'm telling you directly, it includes a pathway to citizenship."

It's the House's version of The Gang of Eight, not an actual House committee. But it's only a Gang of Seven now, since Cong. Raul Labrador (R-ID) has withdrawn from the group.

Correct. Either Becerra is lying about the path-to-citizenship or he is not.

Case 1: It's true the Gang of 7 is working toward a path-to-citizenship. In that case, it contradicts John Carter's website, which says he wants an immigration bill without a path-to-citizenship.

Case 2: Becerra is lying. Why would 3 GOP congressmen want to be associated with a liar?

I would replace chain immigration (all the family can enter, once an illegal alien successfully produces an child while in the US) with chain deportation. Send the US born children of illegal aliens back to their parent’s home country.

That way the US born children of the illegal alien would no longer be subject to the jurisdiction of the US, and then not required to be given US citizenship.

We can’t do that now, because once the House passes any bill, the Senate can mark it up, and it is subject to being changed to evil, and is more likely to be passed as an evil bill in House-Senate conference committee.

Amnesty is when we don’t jail them before we fine and expel them.

Getting to stay is a positive benefit that should not be extended to law breakers.

RE:”House path-to-citizenship ping.”

This plus some of the other threads we shared this week tell me that the House bill version of the above will be limited to kids brought here and who grew up here.
That other thread (you pinged us to) saying this didn't surprise me.

This will make it much more attractive to Republicans to vote for/support, or alternatively harder to fight, the compassion card.

Unfortunately the vast majority of that group would vote Dem (if such a bill gets to law) and they will give Obama most of the credit for it.
Hypothetically Rubio might be able to draw some of their votes for his part if he was the nominee, but at what price? I mean what else would he have to promise to give them?

Assuming it contains a path-to-citzenship. I am hoping that none of them gets citizenship. Otherwise the not-so-innocent parents who brought them here will get citizenship too, via family immigration.

"They?" Dems want them to vote, to create a leftist one party system.

A one party system that is bankrupt is worthless. But yes, they also want them to vote. RINO/DINO ? What difference does it make ?

RE “Assuming it contains a path-to-citzenship. I am hoping that none of them gets citizenship. Otherwise the not-so-innocent parents who brought them here will get citizenship too, via family immigration.”

That a flaw in the current immigration law that might be extended to amnesty recips as it was to immigrants under Reagan.

It reminds me :

I posted this idea before: but if children brought here by parent illegals are such victims that we must give them a pass on some sort of amnesty, because it otherwise would be heartless or hateful(this is a popular belief) , then the law needs to make it a felony for adults even parents to bring or keep (visas) minors here who are illegal in the first place. Stop creating these victim kids.

But you see the compassion card is playing again.
We cant do that. Those parents or older family members only break the immigration law to bring kids here because they want a better life for their kids, school, career, etc, they believe in the American Dream. We all want our kids to have that. They are the type of people we want here.

Tears shedding..

They think a leftist party/government would be Utopia. "Big Rock Candy Mountains" lyrics:

There ain't no short-handled shovels, No axes, saws nor picks, I'm bound to stay Where you sleep all day, Where they hung the jerk That invented work In the Big Rock Candy Mountains ...

Willard was a bigger liar than the others. He probably taught Marco personally. Just recently he said that he regretted being so hard on LaRaza Rick Perry and others. He saw running to the right of the “conservatives” on immigration as a way to defeat people who actually were more conservative than the “severe” conservative really is. To him it was all just a trick to win a debate against conservatives. We all know he doesn’t debate liberals. He agrees with them.

It’s not clear to me that the Dems in both houses will vote for a dreamer amnesty only. We have discussed this before.

RE :”It’s not clear to me that the Dems in both houses will vote for a dreamer amnesty only. We have discussed this before”

Yet I think it would be very tempting for Dems to go for as long as it included citizenship. Them rejecting it would give the GOP the upper PR hand, as they might see it.

A bill that I see could be tough to kill:

1) Senate type amnesty for the ‘kids’
(note in the Senate bill they get Green Card in only 5 years after applying, and citizenship in the normal process)
2) The standard border stuff, who knows...
3) Temporary guest workers, to pay off Chamber of Commerce.

.....When was the last time Democrats were advocates for "what was best for America?" ......

That nails it right there. It's downright scary that a bigmouth like Bacerra is in OUR Congress making self-serving statements (and laws) using OUR taxes and OUR resources to benefit Third World tribal primitives.

=================================================

Benefits for OUR country, they say? Hah. All the financial benefits go in the opposite direction.

"Citizenship" is the latino word for "pressure group" ---get ready for zillions in foreign aid and other federal handouts.

Vote-crazed Dems will be handing out tax dollars in exchange for latino votes like there's no tomorrow.

LYING IN WAIT FOR OUR TAX DOLLARS---THESE IMPOVERISHED COUNTRIES CURRENTLY HAVE ORGANIZED PRESSURE GROUPS INSIDE THE US (here illegally): Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico (stateside)l Salvador, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela.

EXAMPLE: The corrupt Dominican Republic provides no safety/ nets for its impoverished citizens but encourages immigration to the US----Dominican illegals here send back home a billion dollars per year which the corrupt Dominican federales consider a prime source of govt revenue. There should be a pathway to citizenship for all illegals we find within our borders. I suggest they become citizens of Zimbabwe...

Becerra's "Gang of 7" includes 3 GOP House members: John Carter (TX), Mario Diaz-Balart (FL), and Sam Johnson (TX).

Since when have these "Gang" sub-Committees in both the Senate and House become new official Congressional authories? Who sanctioned them? Or the authority of "Czars" for that matter?

This is just more superseding the Constitutional representative authority of the American people.

We should tell Rubio and all of them that there are plenty of immigration lawyers in this country and if the kids illegally brought into the country want to be legalized, they should go to an immigration lawyer and pay for it with their own money. That is what all other immigrants do.

It is the illegals’ personal problem—not ours. We do not have to carry them on our backs like a sack of rocks.

Pathway to citizenship ONLY for those in the process of legal procedure in the US, or legally applying outside the US at US Embassies and Consulates.

NO! so-called "pathway" to illegal aliens. The only pathway they deserve is a "pathway to deportation."
