Oddly, there has been quite the argument here in this thread, with several freepers thinking it was OK or understandable for the guy to be punched.

Maybe YOU should read the thread, before asserting something false like “there is no argument here”.

Whether it is HARD to argue that he didn’t deserve to be punched, as I said, is truly an opinion about the difficulty thereof — clearly people ARE arguing it, and I can’t even argue against the guy being arrested.

But I grew up in a time where occasionally, people hit you. I was punched several times in school. NOBODY was ever arrested for it, and I would never have WANTED anybody arrested for it. It was certainly a bad thing for bullies to exist, but we have lost all sense of proportion.

If someone ever insulted my wife, I might well punch them. That’s my job.

The only few people here defending physically and violently attacking someone for calling someone a name were some of the most deceitful and evasive people I ever ran into on this site.

You can read back.

Blacks use this tactic all the time...Many people have been murdered and severely beaten and these criminals attempt to to justify their actions by alleging he deserve it because, "He called me a racial name".

Waooo...I don't think so...

If ya think someone deserves to be physically and violently attacked for something like this, you might consider relocating to a Mideastern country where limitless violence is readily acceptable.
