Perhaps no other politician enjoys the cross-party likability that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) is sporting these days. And thats why he may just be the key to the Republican Party repairing its brand in the coming years.

But if Christies numbers hold up over time, it will be hard to argue there is a better ambassador for the GOP to expand its reach. And the power of the electability argument that Christie would be able to make in the 2016 primary shouldnt be underestimated. Washington Post-ABC News polling consistently showed Republicans felt in the 2012 primary that Mitt Romney had the best shot in the general election.

If the House passes any immigration bill... you will not have to worry about the gop/e... millions of us will walk away forever... never to return for any reason. Freedom Party!
He stabbed me in the back when he had a bromance with the muzzie tyrant and threw the 2012 election because of it.
He is anti gun and he threw the 2012 election with his hand in hand bromance with obama... I will NEVER vote for him ever for any reason... so help me GOD!

Jeb Bush/Chris Christie or vise versa is what the republicans will try to shove down our throats. Ain't gonna fly as far as I'm concerned.
They do not believe us now... but they will.

Certainly; I don’t think he has any place in national politics. His battles with the teachers’ unions should serve as a role model for other states with the same problem.
The pro-life position is most important to me; I’d never vote for a pro-abortion Repub.
Ah ok. I read the tone of your post as you thinking he was a good option for presidency of something. :p My bad

No, as another FReeper put it: Chris Christie is the solution to problems many other states don’t have. The way things are going, maybe at some point our problems will become more widespread (high taxes engineered by teachers’ unions, which lead to jobs and workers fleeing the state); if that is the case then he is the answer.
If Crispy Creme is the answer to our problems...then we’ve got one hell of a problem.
He just needs to stay in NJ and do his thing. We actually want to WIN the next Presidential election.
So the WaPost is pushing Christie?
That ought to tell us all we need to know.
Jeb’s out, and if Christie is all the RINOs have left, I’m feeling pretty good about 2016.
