“That makes sense...this below is my understanding (albeit limited) on the slim jim. guess its moot now as court is over but...
I dont know if theres a link on the slim jim info but my understanding is that when Serino was on the stand, called by the pros, somehow MOM seemed to bring it in out of the blue, that a tool was found in the bushes and it appeared Serino initially called it a slim jim. But then I heard nothing more and there were no prints that I heard about.”
Yeah, I was curious about the slim jim or whatever it was. The police would be derelict in their duties if they didn’t try to identify any prints on it.
and, of course, we are at the mercy of a corrupt court and/or possibly, MOM not asking for it or it just was never discussed or entered into evidence.
If there were no Trayvon Martin prints on it, it would be inappropriate to focus too much on it even if it were a professionally made slim jim (which used to be available at auto supplies) given the number of burglers running around. A wide number of potential owners of the tool makes it a stretch to automatically link it to Trayvon.
Even if I suspect it was his and was probably fabricated from something.
The state could easily have it thrown out, as it was found days later. Anyone could have put it there.
Defense wanted to have that evidence, wanted to show it to the jury, but they could not.
Besides, it may have been a piece of the awning, and not related at all. We will never know.
What I KNOW is that there was a very compelling reason that Trayvon left his back yard and went back, in the dark, in the rain, not knowing if George was there or had returned to his vehicle. It wasn't to go find George. But George found him.
Trayvon returned to the spot where George first saw him. There is a reason.
