The police happened to find a Slim Jim burglary tool in the bushes where GZ said he saw Martin hanging out. This was a couple of days after the incident, so it couldn't be put into evidence because there was no chain of custody link to TM. I think it was his. But I'm just speculating.
I think it's the key to the whole case.
Trayvon didn't leave the safety of his daddy's back yard, to go back out in the dark, in the RAIN, to find Zimmerman. He didn't even know if Zimmerman was still around.
He went back because there was something he LOST or DUMPED into the bushes.
He was looking for it when George came walking BACK up the sidewalk returning to his vehicle.
Trayvon didn't want to get caught right THERE, near the EVIDENCE.
He had to do something quick.
The rest is history.
no- M sneaked up behind Z and hailed him, all before any cops were visible. M could have let Z continue past the Z to his truck but chose to hail Z instead. So M wasn’t surprised, Z was.
That makes sense...this below is my understanding (albeit limited) on the slim jim. guess it’s moot now as court is over but...
I don’t know if there’s a link on the slim jim info but my understanding is that when Serino was on the stand, called by the pros, somehow MOM seemed to bring it in out of the blue, that a ‘tool’ was found in the bushes and it appeared Serino initially called it a slim jim. But then I heard nothing more and there were no prints that I heard about.
Funny how the state never showed that “piece of the awning” — a piece that could be used to pry open a window, a window like the one that this tall black male was looking into when Zimmerman spotted him, that dark and rainy night.
