You would be wrong, the number of votes (popular vote numbers) for Romney/Ryan [60,932,152] were bigger than the numbers for McCain/Palin [59,948,323] the previous cycle. Obama’s numbers dropped a bit from the previous cycle IIRC.

This is per the FEC and I have seen those numbers cited on several sites and publication from both sides of the aisle.

Obama was at 65,899,660 in 2012, while he had 69,498,516 in 2008 (also per the FEC).

Who would have thought that the demise of ACORN after the 2008 election could result in at least 3,598,856 fewer fraudulent votes being cast in 2012.
