My niece is a pediatric nurse and she says it’s now standard procedure to ask parents *and* kids if there are guns in their house.
When I went to the pediatrician’s office with my daughter for one of our grandchildren’s check-ups, I could not believe the intrusive, outrageous questions they asked!
To top it all, apparently doctors now have to look at a child’s genitals at every visit for signs of abuse. Just as parents are telling their kids to cover up and not let strangers into their pants, now the poor docs have to at least take a quick look. I’m sure little girls are not happy about it.
Why don’t doctors rebel and tell the gov’t to get lost? I can’t believe this is the USA.
No need to ask that here in West Texas. The answer would be yes 90 % of the time.

Sorry. My daughter’s pediatrician only saw her with me in the room. Trust me had that question ever been asked I would have had the final word

They have been asking me that for years. I refuse to answer.
I tell my wife to refuse to answer. And I do not, in fact, have a gun in the house.
They should respond, my daddy/mommy has a concealed carry permit so I don’t know.
Yes I just recently went to the ER for a stomach illness and I could tell the male clerk was embarrassed to ask me the following question. He said “I hate to ask you this but this is mandatory - Do you own a gun” I said NO.
Our children have seen a very liberal pediatrician for the last seven years. I don’t recall her ever asking our children about firearms. She has questionnaires for teenagers, but I don’t recall seeing the question there either. Our children who are 18 or over still go to this pediatrician because we trust her. I think she will retire soon due to the nonsense of Obamacare. She was all for socialized medicine, but she is not for sharing medical records without explicit permission from her patients. She sees far too much incompetence on a daily basis among area physicians and nurses in the local hospitals. She has a fear of a medical record being wrongly used against someone based upon a misdiagnosis of an incompetent or lazy physician.
You gotta be kidding me. Holy smoke I had no idea about any of this. Are they are required by the fascists to ask this?
