University offers (George Mason) course on Trayvon Martin, misspells his name

George Mason University (GMU) is set to offer a three-credit course on Florida youth Trayvon Martin this fall but in the online description of the course misspelled his name as “Trevon Martin."

It just shows how worthless some college credits can be. I think it’s always been that way. Personally, I have three college credits in tennis I earned as an undergrad in 1968, but I don’t think I ever learned the rules of the game, much less how to play it. Even the scoring remains a mystery to me: love love, what does that mean?

Perfectly encapsulates the state of “higher education” in the country right now. Granting educational credit in a course where the organizer and presumably, the instructor have no clue as to what they’re teaching.
