Russian president Vladimir Putin has passed a draconian law that calls for the arrest of anyone who is openly gay or supportive of gay rights.

In a throwback to the country’s authoritarian ruling, Russian president Vladimir Putin has signed a controversial law that punishes people for “homosexual propaganda.” The law fines people—including tourists—up to 200,000 rubles ($6,240 CDN) for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations.”

Actually this can be quite dangerous down the road for the USA. Might be even more impetus for terrorists to attack the ‘great Satan’ they perceive. This gay crap just feeds into their cause. If Christians get raptured then the USA will sink much further into an utter immoral abyss.
In your link Jefferson doesn't say anything about homosexuality, he's talking about sodomy; they're not the same thing; it's all oral and anal sex, including that between men and women, as well as men only, though it seems hardly anybody is aware of that.
This has been true of virtually all sodomy laws, and given that other than a microscopic number of extreme prudes pretty much everyone in the country has no problem with male/female oral sex these days, citing such laws and who supported them isn't much of an argument.
Don’t think I could ever trust former KGB. Especially Putin. My understanding (don’t ask for source, this is from a long time back) is he was an advocate of preemptive nuclear strike against the US. That’s pretty dangerous territory. You wanted to wipe us all out, and now you’re the good guy? So I’m trying to process some of these latest moves. On one level I’m glad to see them, and I understand that God is sovereignly moving in the midst of all this. At another level, it looks like it could be a PR campaign to draw religious conservatives back in to state loyalty. I don’t know ... it’s like trying to trust the Klingons, not working for me ...
Even if that statement were correctly characterizing him, Putin's nation is undergoing a substantial Orthodox revival, along with a renewed assertion of Christian morality, and this is what impresses us.
