So open about it that he ran a help-wanted ad seeking local help who were involved in long-term gay relationships. There are many queers everywhere and goodly number of the cookie-pushers at DoS certainly are. But part of being a diplomat is to know where it's not a good idea to share info about one's sexual preferences ... you know, keep it on the down low.
