And as the article points out the railroads are now being relied upon to police themselves, and we all know how well that worked out on Wall Street. Of course, the same probably holds true for the pipeline owners. That was certainly a problem with Enbridge’s Kalamazoo River oil spill which has cost over $1 billion to clean up.
