Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who has hinted he could mount a 2016 presidential bid, is already taking shots at his potential competition in the Republican primary.
The freshman senator was asked Monday night during an appearance on Fox News about Texas Gov. Rick Perry's (R) announcement he would not seek reelection a move that has prompted speculation that Perry could again run for the White House.
If Gov. Perry decides to run for president, I think there would be three good reasons why he could be president: Texas is a big successful state, hes a long term governor and I cant remember the other one, Paul quipped.
The joke was a reference to Perry's disastrous performance in a November 2011 GOP presidential debate, in which he was unable to remember the third federal agency he wanted to eliminate.
"Commerce, Education and the what's the third one there? Let's see," Perry said at the time.
Perry later acknowledged the gaffe telling CBS News that he "stepped in it" but his campaign was never able to recover. He later endorsed Newt Gingrich for the Republican nomination ahead of the South Carolina primary.
You never did grow up and still have the same talking points, I see.
And still don’t have a lick of sense in your postings.
That’s why the RINO’S can ‘use’ you and you follow the one who does it for the team.
Did you even watch the debate? Bachmann lied about Perry with her big mouth and she never did produce that 'lady in the audience' that night - and least her state understood the political game that was going on so she gave up her post.
Then romney stepped in to finish the job with his lies when Perry was confronting him with truth. So 'whatever conservative' conned their following enough, they turned their votes over to Romney when they stepped down. All according to script - all he/Rove needed was a hungry political and one known for taking it for the team. Voters lived in hope for their flavor of the week candidate and too clueless to watch 'the play' of dirty politicians doing what they do.
You don't know that, you only surmise it because you laughed at it. It clearly shows Rand's character and it's not pretty. He would 'joke' about you, also, if given the chance to make himself/'junior' senator look better against a seasoned governor.
You are the biggest hypocrite I have seen. You constantly bash conservatives and support the liberal candidates like Christie and your lover Perry. I suggest you move over to DU where your same people believe what you believe.....liberal views!
Neither will I.
Jimrob once led the libertarian caucus of the Republican party in California.
You get over it.
Then you believe...Jesus is The WORD and HE IS THE Truth and The Way and Eternal Life and not 'man' and 'their words' and their way and their purgatory - for there is no such place like that but hell where pride goes and those who never knew JESUS THE WORD. If He isn't your final authority - then 'man/evil' is for you can't serve two masters.
I offer a political comment and I get a response from a Jesus freak.
Which is worthless as we are living the results of it.
I get a response from a Jesus freak.
Jesus is TRUTH which you cannot handle - thanks for confirming it to the WWW.
You think you/man is truth? LOL! Watch out for that pride - it will keep you where you are - nowhere but with those who 'use' you and can con you!
No worries, since “Jimrob once led the libertarian caucus of the Republican party in California”, my guess is he got over it too.
AP Starts the 2016 Character Assassination of Rick Perry, Part 2: ‘A Political Punchline on Par With Dan Quayle’
Perry’s a great guy, stood up for the Boyscouts against the Gays, stands up for life, a solid Christian, he was my choice last time. Now, he definitely has some competition but we will see.
The press may knock Perry but in my view, other conservatives have gotten a lot more flack from the vile frothing-at-the-mouth left.
Good Luck and God Bless Rick!
I haven't seen him sailing in to verbally assault the Paul family yet, so I guess he may have not.
Jim has evolved over the years. You may not know, but he was a Democrat for many years. As he moved more to the right, he would have passed through libertarianism on his way to where he is today. “On the side of right, the conservative side.”
If you read “The Statement by the Founder of Free Republic”,

you will notice that the word conservative is prominent and the word libertarian is not to be found. It has been discarded on history’s trash heap of failed philosophies.
