Memo to newsies working on 'big stories' that would embarrass the government:

1. Keep a full diary of activities that multiple co-workers have easy access to.
2. Never say "I'm going to reveal something soon" - just do it already.
3. Always assume that the people you're chasing have read the list of rules, and that you're gonna be toast when they catch you.
