A new restaurant in Bangkok has made KFC snap to Achtung!
In May, Andrew Spooner, author of the Footprint Thailand Handbook, snapped a photo of a new restaurant that had just opened in Thailand and tweeted it out :
Very bizarre Hitler Fried Chicken shop in Thailand. I kid you not. Complete with pic of Hitler in bow tie http://t.co/9OS1FgfUCx

Now Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) may sue the fried chicken restaurant, which is called Hitler, for replacing its iconic image of Colonel Sanders with Adolf Hitler, complete with apron and bow tie. The restaurant sells fried chicken as well as chips, burgers and kebabs, according to the Daily Mail, and is still open for business. Bangkok resident Alan Robertson told the Mail: The place opened last month and nobody quite knows what to make of it. I went in for a bite last week and got some fried chicken, which was pretty good, and asked the guy behind the counter why it was called Hitler. He just shrugged his shoulders and said the owners had thought it was good image.

There have been rumours for years. While everyone was looking for him in Argentina and Paraguay, Adolph has been hiding in Thailand waiting patiently for the statue of limitations to expire.

Mongolian Neo Nazis? Hitler Fried Chicken in Thailand?? Nazi-themed restaurants on Taiwan???
Why, of all things?
There are no places called Tojo’s Sushi or Genghis Khan’s Mongolian Grill or Chairman Mao’s Buffet Palace, for example!

I've often speculated that as the WW2 generation dies off and the events become more distant, that Hitler would be given the "Vlad the Impaler" or "Atilla the Hun" treatment and become viewed as some "cool" villian by future youth.

I think you've identified a new market niche. But to make it as disconnected as Hitler's Fried Chicken, I would open a Tojo's Tamales shop.

Well, as long as we’re making jokes...
I hear the Valkyrie Wings are actually quite good. There’s a spicy number called the V-1 you might try. And if you really enjoy “flying by the seat of your pants,” so to speak, I dare you to go for the V-2.

Believe it or not, there was a Rumanian restaurant called Drakula here in Austin. They served traditional Rumanian fare. Nothing that would reinforce the name. (Blood sausages or fried “stakes”, for example.) It was okay.
For sure, the name lured me in. “I GOTTA see what this is about!”

...But here in Austin, I'm sure they would pronounce it "Toe-Hoe's" Tamales. I can see it, though: a post-modern Tojo caricature and the whole restaurant done in an "Imperial Flag" motif with red and white rays radiating everywhere from a big, red disk on the floor.
