From Wal-Mart to General Motors to PepsiCo, companies are increasingly turning to temps and to a much larger universe of freelancers, contract workers and consultants. Combined, these workers number nearly 17 million people who have only tenuous ties to the companies that pay them — about 12 percent of everyone with a job.

Well, Pelosi and Barry decided that Americans need more time to write poetry and take guitar lessons. We need to give those buffoons up on Capitol Hill more time to do that. We don’t have enough poets and guitar players in Congress.

Some employers have also sought to sidestep the new health care law's rule that they provide medical coverage for permanent workers. Last week, though, the Obama administration delayed that provision of the law for a year.

Thank Jupiter that Emporer Obama is protecting us from "some" employers!

From the article:

“Some employers have also sought to sidestep the new health care law’s rule that they provide medical coverage for permanent workers.”

It took a few paragraphs, but AP got there. Very good, AP! Even you can learn.

“...We don’t have enough poets and guitar players in Congress....”

There are few congresscritters capable of 1) writing anything that’s readable, 2) demonstrating talent of any kind whatsover...save that of being a despicable piece of excrement (e.g. Obamastuff).

Congress is slime.

And the Obamadork is the Slimemeister.

I like the idea. No one wants to take on fat lazy entitled place holders for life. Temporary workers you can unload when their cost to the company outweighs the benefit. And you won’t get sued. They did it to themselves....

Just for the record, I am currently working in a ‘temporary’ job, and making more money than I ever have. Not all temporary workers want a permanent job - the company I temp for has offered a FT position - I don’t want it. I work in the high-tech field, and gladly take the higher hourly pay over benefits that I don’t want or need (i.e. health insurance I get thru my wife’s job).

I do however realize that I am in the minority and most temp jobs are probably not the first choice for many folks.

I agree. With the garbage coming out of Congress these days, most of those boneheads can’t read either.
