“shot the intruder after he broke into the log cabin style home” Not sure what the laws are but if this statement is accurate I’m thinking it’s a no brainer.

That depends on where it took place. Here in GA it would be a no-brainer because our law allows deadly force in defense of our homes and property and we have no duty to retreat from an intruder before using deadly force. I don't know much about Indiana law on this issue, (actually none at all), but after having spent quite a bit of time in rural IN and thereby acquiring a very favorable opinion of Hoosiers in general, I tend to think it's probably not too much different from ours.

Sounds like you quoted the Indiana Code

Self defense is not an issue.

It's assumed when an intruder enters your house.
