Why are watermelons over the top? I like watermelon. What is more American that watermelon, summertime and a parade?

Collards, fried chicken & watermelon were part of my diet growing up. Only later did I learn these items are now deemed “soul food”, and that any public mention of them by any nonblack person is an act of insensitivity & racism.
