Delay in Obamacare requirement puts onus on the honor system

Delaying the "employer mandate" already means the government is giving up potential revenue next year, as businesses whose employees buy subsidized coverage on an Obamacare exchange would be fined $3,000 per person.

In addition, without the reporting requirements of the employer mandate in 2014, "the exchanges and the IRS will not be able to verify whether someone's coverage is unaffordable" and thus whether the person is eligible for subsidies, said law professor Timothy Jost of Washington and Lee School of Law in Lexington, Virginia.

That leaves it up to individual consumers to be honest about what they do, or do not, qualify for.

"After encountering “legislative and operational barriers,” the federal government will not require the District and the 16 states that are running their own marketplaces to verify a consumer’s statement that they do not receive health insurance from their employer. “The exchange may accept the applicant’s attestation regarding enrollment in eligible employer-sponsored plan . . . without further verification,” according to the final rule. The federal government will, however, conduct an audit for the states where it is managing the new insurance Web portal." http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/health-insurance-marketplaces-will-not-be-required-to-verify-consumer-claims/2013/07/05/d2a171f4-e5ab-11e2-aef3-339619eab080_story.html So they will audit the States that didn't cooperate and start their own exchange.

So... What does the congressional budget office say will be THE COST of Obama arbitrarily deciding not to enforce the Employer Mandate?

This horse-cr@p was put into motion under NIXON who let the democraps talk him into allowing employers to buy and deduct health insurance for their employee’s

You don’t buy your car insurance through your job. Or your homeowners’ insurance, or life insurance... so why buy your health insurance from your boss?

Then the health insurers stoked the disaster by introducing “co-pays”. You dont see what they pay, or the actual cost, you only see your “co-pay” amount. So it does not matter what the price is.

I took one of my babysitter to buy a prescription- They originally filled it with a prescription anti-biotic for $400. But when they found out she had no health insurance they re-filled it with a generic item for $15. Only in a hidden-cost system is that possible.

Even with a $50 “co-pay” she would have been better off with the $15 generic.

We all know that there is no welfare fraud and no Medicare/Medicaid fraud, so I’m sure there will be no ObamaCare fraud.

In fact, Holder’s people don’t have to work for a living because fraud IS there occupation.
