I think I'm missing something, so help me out fellow FReepers.

FOX News, and the other 24 hour "news" channels, stuck with this story for hours and hours yesterday with barely a hint as to anything else going on in the world. I finally turned off the TV and came back here to FR to get the real news.

It was just a friggin' plane crash! Why the hours and hours of coverage (of practically nothing). FNC even deleted The Five and I didn't get to see Andrea!
Ooops, forget that that last part. I didn't say that.

I turned FNC on again last night at one o'clock and they were still on the plane crash! So what was so riveting about a plane crash where only two people died (not to trivialize the deaths, tragic as they truly are).

It made the MSM talking heads feel relevant, so they strettttttttch it out for as long as they can.

Exactly. The “Wait For It” news channels were milking this accident for everything they could get out of it. Shortly after the accident occurred, a FReeper posted a photo of the passengers walking away from the plane carrying their luggage like it was just another day at the airport.
